Apalachicola Photography Workshop
Workshop
November 12-14, 2010. Workshop fee $159.
Join David in historic and scenic Apalachicola, Florida for an intense photography weekend workshop. Apalachicola rests peacefully at the mouth of the Apalachicola River before it empties into the Gulf of Mexico. The area is famous for it's fishing heritage, especially world famous Apalachicola Oysters. The downtown area is home to many historic and rustic buildings which are perfect for HDR photography. There are galleries, restaurants and shops that emphasize the history of the Forgotten Coast. The surrounding area is home to many shrimp and oyster fishermen. We will photograph the boats as they prepare to go out for the day's fishing or upon their return. Apalachicola is loaded with tremendous photographic opportunities. Don't miss this one. David will be joined by Cecil Holmes and Marvin Price to offer more hands on instruction. There will be a classroom session on Saturday to review images while the locations are fresh in your mind.
The workshop fee does not include transportation, lodging or meals. We have several recommendations for lodging options. There are historic inns located in Apalachicola and on St. George Island that have very attractive off season rates. In Apalachicola the Gibson Inn (850) 653-2191 is a great option, mention David and Bear Woods Photography for a discounted rate. On St. George Island the St. George Inn (850) 927-2903 is centrally located. Ask about their winter weekend specials. Other options to consider are houses or condos on St. George Island. You may choose to extend your stay, or several participants may want to share lodging. We have used 2 agencies and feel comfortable recommending either group. They are Resort Vacation Properties of St. George Island (877) 272-8206, and Collins Vacation Rentals (800) 683-9776.
